Runway Tower is a mobile game that we made with our industry partner WIC (women in construction). I made this in a team of four and I was the main game designer for it.

Runway Tower is a mobile game where the player builds a tower completing mini-games until they run out of spending budget. There are 3 minigames the player can participate in while playing the game. A plumbing minigame, voltage minigame and vent minigame.

The game is meant to be a fast-paced minigame rush with the addition of managing your money and earning it between floors. We created a tutorial for the players to understand the minigames and have them further understand the different roles construction. So I came up with four different characters to represent the roles and wrote their dialogue for the tutorial.

I also designed the planning stage and had different ideas implemented into it. It is the blueprint of the current floor you are working on, and the higher you build the tower the harder it gets to maintain budget and symmetry. I also implemented the idea for stronger tiles which would allow the player to put tiles that go over the edge for cheaper. I also dealt with balancing how much the player earns from minigames and the stars as well as how much extra tiles would cost the further the player got.
